Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information BioData Maker (shaadi-biodata.com) collects, what it does not collect, and how your information is handled. By using the service you agree to this policy.

Data we collect

• Payment information. When you pay ₹29 for a premium template, the transaction is processed entirely by Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI ID, or net banking credentials. We receive only a Razorpay payment ID and order ID to verify that the payment was successful.
• Your email address. You enter your email before making a payment. We use it for one purpose only: to email you the PDF of your biodata immediately after payment. We do not use it for marketing, newsletters, or any other communication unless you contact us first.
• Anonymous analytics. We record page views (visit count, PDF download count) using a lightweight custom beacon. No personal data — no IP address, no device ID, no cookies — is collected for analytics. We also use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity in aggregate, anonymous mode.

Data we do NOT collect

This is the most important section.

• Your biodata content is never sent to our servers. Your name, date of birth, address, family details, religion, caste, education, income, photo, and WhatsApp number are stored only in your browser's localStorage. They are never transmitted to us over the network at any point during normal use.
• We have no database of your personal information.
• We cannot reconstruct your biodata because we never received it.
• Your uploaded photo is stored only in your browser's memory and localStorage — never on our servers.
• We do not build profiles, sell data, or share any user information with third parties for advertising.

Cookies

• We set no tracking cookies of our own.
• Cloudflare (our CDN and DDoS protection provider) may set a security cookie (__cf_bm) for bot detection. This cookie does not identify you personally.
• Razorpay sets session cookies necessary to operate the payment checkout window. These are governed by Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics 4 may set anonymous analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) if you have not opted out. These do not contain personal data from your biodata.

Data storage and retention

• Your biodata in localStorage has a 4-hour TTL — it is automatically deleted from your browser after 4 hours to protect your privacy.
• Paid template unlock tokens in localStorage have no expiry — they persist until you manually clear your browser data.
• Your email address (collected before payment) is stored in our email logs only as long as required by SendGrid's retention policy (typically 30 days). It is not used for any purpose other than the delivery confirmation email.
• Payment IDs and order IDs are retained in Razorpay's systems per Razorpay's policy, and in our server logs for up to 90 days for fraud prevention.

Your rights

• You can delete all your biodata immediately by clicking "Start Over" on the preview page, or by clearing your browser's localStorage (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data).
• You can request deletion of your email address from our email delivery logs by writing to us.
• You have the right to know what data we hold about you. Since we hold almost none, this request is typically answered with "we hold only your email address from the time of payment, nothing else."

Children's privacy

BioData Maker is intended for adults preparing marriage biodata. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the service to submit payment information, contact us and we will process a refund.

Compliance

This policy is designed to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). We collect only the minimum data necessary, use it solely for the stated purpose, and provide you with the right to delete your data at any time.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
